UNiON Productions (union)

Nailz built UNiON out of the ashes of his short, sharp VOiD insurgency, and by 1994 it was the second-most-prolific group in the scene. Monthly packs from January through December. A roster that swelled past forty names include #28, Cybernary, Dark Image, Hard Target, No Carrier, Mass Delusion running pack coordination after the Alive absorption, the entire Manifest Innovations bloc filing in through Betrayer. Their own message net (UnionNet), their own viewer (UnionView), their own music disk (UNIM0994). Then 1995 happened. Neurotic left in February. May's pack was thin. June's revitalization mag turned sour. By July the call was made internally to kill the group. The dissolution NFO, dated September 2, 1995, is Mass Delusion at his most honest. The final compendium was, by his own account, one of UNiON's best months ever and they went out at full strength rather than fading. Along the way the group spat out the receipts the scene needed: Sharp's defection to ACiD aired in public via NZ-PR3.ANS, Neurosis flip-flopping, Lord Pegasus's Duck Hunt remix on the Downbeat music disk. UNiON was the loud, sprawling, perpetually-on-fire alternative to ACiD and iCE and like most loud sprawling fires, it burned itself out faster than the institutions ever could.
