galza (galza)
Galza was the Russian hirez breakaway nobody saw coming. Founded 1999 by Otium Man, Iron_Lung, and Diamond, all veterans of the HRG/Karma/Triloxy chain, all tired of cramming hirez output into ASCII-focused packs. The thesis was simple: separate the disciplines, raise the standard, let JPGs be JPGs. Within a year Galza was one of the most consistent quality producers in the post-BBS era. Of all the 1999-founded groups, Galza is the one that aged best. No revival drama, no farewell pack and just steady output across two decades. The name Galza originates from a typo for the Russian word глаза (glaza), meaning "eyes". The name stuck despite the misspelling.
