The Polish ASCII scene's flagship. Founded March 28, 1999 by Simon King (Szymon Grabinski) from Wiecbork with Last Jedi, Chronos, FearfLight, Kipsake, Riven, sIR mENTOR, and Snap, tHE lo0p quickly racked up 143 SAUCE records in 1999, the single largest group share of that year. The cadence stayed disciplined into 2001 and 2002, with Simon King anchoring leadership and Riven famously dubbed "the 8th wonder of the world" by his peers. The Polish-language NFOs carried a defiant refrain: "ascii to gowno, ascii jest martw" / "ansi is the fact!" that doubled as a position statement against the dying-scene narratives. Then a 4-year hiatus, broken by l0p24_08 in June 2008 after Simon King partially left for family life and simOne survived a 2007 apartment burglary that nearly took out his archive. tHE lo0p was Poland's answer to Mimic and Glue all at once with community, regional pride, and a working monthly cadence. One of the most important non-English-language groups in the entire scene.
