Superior Art Creations (sac)

Superior Art Creations was a scene art group founded in Berlin, Germany in December 1994 by Hetero and Roy, growing to include artists, coders, and musicians from across the global underground digital art community. Through the mid-to-late 1990s, the group expanded internationally, operating BBS headquarters like Closed Society and The Shogunat, opening their #sac IRC channel on EFnet in 1997, and welcoming members from Canada, Australia, and beyond. In 1996, SAC committed to becoming a 100% art-focused group, with PPE-only coders leaving to form their own collective, and by 1999 the group restructured. The early 2000s brought a new generation of talent across ASCII, ANSI, VGA, and music, with figures like Ferrex stepping up to leadership after Roy's retirement and members like MrDeath winning compo prizes for chip and 4ch music. Having released no new packs since 2009, SAC is now considered disbanded.
