Hieroglyphics (hieroglyphics)
Avenger of Black Maiden launched Hieroglyphics in May 1999 with a family-not-politics manifesto that read as a polite middle finger to the assimilation pressures of the era: "we are interested in pushing the limits of our medium." The founding members were a deliberately picked refugee crew including Crayon out of Klexikal, Gloss out of iCE/Awe Lettering, Kleenex out of Glue/Dark, Reanimator out of ACiD/Legion/Seven, plus zedfactor as founder of record. The group took off in 2000. Hieroglyphics was the last fully-formed late-era ASCII group before the scene's center of gravity moved entirely to solo packs and revivals.
