glue info for august 1998
hi.
another month, another pack. however things never get boring here in
glue. were working to create a quality image for ourselves. and i have to
admit, this pack does look like an improvment from the others. the last couple
of months, we havnt been up to our potential. however that will soon be
changing. we will be seeing more pics introduced into the packs, while still
keeping the fonts as just as large a factor. we do need to even things out
though.
ive been thinking a lot lately about the scene, glue, and my place in
it all. im the leader of a fairly well established group. but when i look
at legion/avenge/zenith packs, i feel sort of minute. glue feels sort of minutealso. i intend to pick up the slack. motivation is a key factor in any group,
and inspiration is necessary to spark that motivation. so i plan to draw some
nice stuff : hopefully everyone else will do the same, and put some work and
dedication into what they release, so we can really turn some heads in the
next couple months, and beyond. weve shown that we can stick around, now letsshow them that we can compete.
Another month has drawn to a close, marking the end of a fabulous at
least for myself summer. Glues roster has not suffered either over the weeks, though it has been cut to size. Sarcasm and Da Drug were both removed due to lengthly inactivity. Noah has parted ways with a dream of achieving success in
his own group good luck to him. And finally, after some debate, Glues senior
staff has decided to abolish the ascii division. It seems that ascii artists
are reluctant to join an ansi-tainted group, therefore the department was not
successful. Thank you to Nahal and Pariah for giving it a fair chance regard-
less your presence was appreciated.
On a more positive note Im very pleased to announce that Chronix, a
great font talent from Force, has decided to fool around with the Glue crew. Also, Phoman applied and was accepted toward to beginning of August. Unfort- unately, we had a minor discrepancy in ans for which I genuinely apologize.
After the incident, he left Glue out of anger. Gladly, hes decided to return.
Check out his lovely font work in this pack.
I feel that I should address the issue of my administrative positions inboth Glue and Awe Lettering. A few have commented that this could and inevit- ably will cause problems in the future however, I disagree. I feel that I am
perfectly able to dedicate myself to both groups, and equally so. To sum it upplease dont make assumptions until you can back them up with fact. When you
assume, you make an ass out of u and me. :

i would like to thank avenger of black maiden for producing an awesome
fileid.diz for this months pack on very short notice. and i really recommend
that everyone check out the black maiden packs. the 18th issue is due out
mid september, and theyre always a nice piece of eye candy to look at. i
would also like to give a shout out to filth for producing another awesome
issue of gutter. i think this mag is something that the scene really needed,
and if the excitment surrounding it keeps up, it probably wont be dying for
a long time. atleast i hope not.
that about sums up the month of august. school is starting soon,
and already has for some. for some people, this means more drawing time, and
for others less. glue will have to deal with this just as much as every other
group, but i dont see it being a big problem. so long, and thanks for all
the shoes.
