The Primal Order (primal)

Long Island, August 1993. White Knight (founder/president), Mortacan (ANSi/VGA + packaging), and Vigilante (president + NET) built PRiMAL around their own message network, PRiMALNET, which spanned the US, Italy, and Canada. They were one of the first 1993 groups to treat the international node-list as part of the group's identity. By September the roster had 20+ members across artists, couriers, an Italian coordinator, and a SysOp/cracker class for the more H/P/A/C/V/T-inclined ("TOP SECRET" applicants only). Demons Abyss was the WHQ. CyberSpace ran the network hub. The Velvet Underground BBS went down in July "rumored foul play." This was a group that wanted to look more like an Italian-mob-flavored mini-cartel than an art collective, and the packs kept coming through December 1993 with the same heavy, mythic branding. PRiMAL never quite scaled to ACiD/iCE altitude but it nailed the mid-tier: international, multi-disciplinary, BBS-warez-adjacent without being warez. The Primal Order tag stuck around well into 1994 before the group faded into the general 1994 mass-merger churn.
