Mean Scheme was a German PC ANSI art group founded in November 1995, originally established as a subgroup of the PPE group PAiN!Mean Scheme was a German PC ANSI art group founded in November 1995, originally established as a subgroup of the PPE group PAiN!. Operating within the lively German scene art community of the mid-1990s, the collective developed its own identity while maintaining ties to its parent group. Mean Scheme contributed to the ANSI art landscape during a period of intense creative output across European underground digital art circles. After roughly two years of activity, the group dissolved in late 1997, bringing its run as a distinct collective to a close.
