Chaos Energy Group (ceg)
A long-running Russian outfit that surfaced in early 1998 and ran through 2001 as a full multi-format operation. The 2001 CEG (now "Chaos Energy Group") put out four major releases with a solid hirez roster and a tighter ASCII/ANSi crew.
By mid-2001 the editorial was openly considering format consolidation, the kind of compromise that says everything about how the post-Soviet scene was balancing a small contributor pool against the format-multiplication trap.
CEG is one of the more durable Russian projects of the late '90s / early 2000s, with serious roster depth and a genuine multi-format ambition. The fact that they kept it together for three+ years across format shifts is more impressive than any single pack.
