She sat there just waiting, all comfy and warm
But each time she peeked, all she saw was the storm
The snow had been falling since early last night
But today was the day, she just knew she was right
Mommy tried to tell her that the roads were too bad But she didnt want to hear, for it made her so sad
So she went to her room and on her bed she did lie And she drifted off to sleep with a tear in her eye
Suddenly she awakened to the strangest of sounds
She sat up in bed and she looked all around
And there in the corner, in her little rocking chair
Sat a llama with a top hat and lavender hair
His bow tie askew, his sneakers untied
She sat there just staring, her eyes growing wide
Hi there, Samantha, Ive been waiting for you.
I saw the tear in your eye and I knew you were blue. My name is Lucky and Ive come here to play,
So lets take a trip to a place far away
Oh, Lucky, I know you ! Youre Katrinas dear friend
She told me all about you, from beginning to end
Id love to play with you, but Id better not go
For Im waiting for Daddy, and hes lost in the snow
Oh no, dear Sammie, Im sure hes not lost,
only delayed by the deep snowy frost.
Hes coming, Im sure, and if you want, we can wait
in Never Before and I promise we wont stay late
So Sammie jumped up, climbed atop Luckys back
and together they soared, leaving nary a track.
In only a moment, she looked down and could see
Rich chocolate streets between candy trees
They landed in the middle of a stream of ice cream
And from a building before them came a thick puff of steam
She looked up at Lucky and tugged on his ear
In a quiet little voice she said What is this here?
Come on he said, as he made a path through the trees
And soon all she saw was thick, gooey cheese
For they had entered the parlor where pizza was made
Before them was a table with two place settings laid
They sat and Sammie giggled as they both ate their fill
But soon Lucky said Theres lots to do still
As they left the parlor, Sammy heard an odd little sound.
She peeked around the corner and was surprised at what she found
For the whole ally was filled with all colors of fur
And all she could hear was the kittens noisy purr
There were black ones, and white ones, and spotted kittens too
Some played and some slept, and one crawled upon her shoe
She reached down to tickle his soft, furry head
And he didnt even run, he just sat there instead
So she picked him right up, she sat down on her knees
She cuddled him close and the others came to see
Before long they were covered with fuzzy little cats
There was one on Sammies shoulder, three in Luckys hat
They played for a while and as Sammie turned to go
She picked up a kitten with fur as white as snow
She sat him on Luckys back and they walked down the street
At every toy store window, they stopped for a peek
She saw story books and dollies and jewelry galore
Lipstick like mommys, right there in the store
There were bright purple bikes, pink wagons as well
Swing sets and crayons, roller skates with bells
She looked up at Lucky and said Oh, Lucky, WOW !
But wed best go back home, maybe Daddys there by now
Sammie climbed on Luckys back and as they passed by the stream
She left the furry white kitten eating chocolate ice cream
As they soared through the air, she gave Lucky a hug
She cuddled up real close, she was happy and snug
The next thing she knew, she was back in her bed
Daddy was there, his cheeks rosy and red
She giggled as he kissed her on the tip of her ear
And as she told him about Lucky, his laughter was clear...
