GROUP iNFORMATiONS:
Welcome to the second Mafia Jeopardy Artpack! Its coming pretty
late, as a lot of time has passed since we released our first
package in August 2001, but we finally made it...
Firstly, we would like to welcome Villeret, Acetone, Enzo and
Prince into the family, thanks for joining guys, we hope that
youll enjoy your stay : Memberlist has also been cleaned up,
all inactive members have been removed. They are more than
welcome to join again if they ever come back! We also want to
thank the following guys for guesting in this pack, they are:
Infernal Flames, Simonking, Acid Brain, H7, and Talo aka Merlin
Secondly, we feel like writing something about the actual state
of the scene. Our investigation of some art group websites made
us do some interesting discoveries. Lets start with this poll,
stats are from 28/11/2002, it was found on the website of a group
we wont name: SAC.

The stats speak from themselves... Most guys use notepad to view
ascii, talk about lame... One of the tools listed in the poll
retained our attention: Ascii Factory.
Well there you have a program that looks exactly like these icon
designing programs where you draw your stuff by filling a grid,
though this one is for ascii. You only have seven different types
of blocks: go figure, the author of this crap
doesnt know any single shit about ascii, he doesnt even know
all blocks used to draw block ascii and once youve selected one
you can start drawing your crap like any kid could do with the
good old Magic Lights.
A very nice HAHA! set of F0sTs ascii comes with Ascii
Factory, so you can see the kind of ugly stuff you can draw with
this lame program. About the program itself, well its coded in
Blitz Basic coding for dummies :, which makes the .EXE file
400 Kb after packing, while it could be 4 times smaller if it was
coded in a real language, and moreover it takes 100 of the cpu
on an Athlon XP 2000+ ...
Unfortunately, the name couldnt be more accurate, as this tool
allow you to produce ascii the way a factory would do: every
ascii will look the same, and you can create 100 ascii a day if
you use it, maybe more! Of course they will suck and look like
gif2ascii stuff if you view them the correct way, but remember
the stats above.. Guys are watching them with notepad, or Ascii
Factory... Ascii by the idiots, for the idiots!
We tried to be nice, so we contacted the author on irc to tell
him that his tool is just stupid, but he showed that he was a
perfect idiot and didnt want to listen to our arguments, saying
we just wanted to flame for nothing... So, dear kenet, ascii is
meant to be drawn and seen on 80x25 *TEXTMODE* display. It will
look like shit on other resolutions and especially in your sucky
tool! If you are too stupid to understand that, then you are
beyond help.
So mister Ascii Factory author, we at MJD senior staff advise you
that as you know nothing about ascii and coding, you shouldnt
write an ascii editor! All you achieved by doing it is attracting
more lamers into the world of ascii, and helping them kill the
ascii scene and even ruin the quality of your own group packs! We
really hope that it wont be necessary to write that kind of text
again in the future, so accept your errors and learn from them,
thanks!
About the future of MJD now, noone cant really tell what
tommorow will be made of... This pack took a lot of time to
collect since most of our members are now busy with real life and
are not really active anymore. So about a third pack, we dont
really know, time will decide!
