Welcome to the BM-NEWS in a complete new look and to another instalment of the
Black Maiden Compendium! You are now watching the 10th book, being the
anniversary edition. Black Maiden is getting 10 years old, with 2 years active
art-scene meddling.
I, as a BM founder am most proud of what we have achieved. Some of you might
remember the very first Black Maiden pack. I still do, and in times I happen
to look through every pack of ours. Each pack contains something special, be
it in atmosphere, gigs, or suprises. But the pack which you watch now, is more
than any bm-pack has ever been.
At the times of bm1 through bm4 we always looked up to the art-scene as a great idol, we bowed before the masters of acid or ice. But we worked hard, and
recruited most talented artists. And today I can say that this pack is a jewel
among the art-scene releases. Leonardo, who comes over from the demo-scene,
brings absolutely stunning VGA into the art-scene. I have already said in
previous newsfiles that our members surpassed themselves, and I can say that
it is again true. I believe that Black Maiden is the very group whose every
release surpasses the previous one.
This time I am sad to announce that we actually lost 3 members. Sparrow quits
Black Maiden because of his fading interest in drawing. Scavenger was kicked
due to inactivity and lack of quality and motivation. Satanic Sly wasnt able
to draw due to some private problems, but promised us to come back as soon
as he finds the time.
But now on to some more happy news. :
Kyp, who is with us since pack number 6 has been rewarded with the title of
senior! As he was doing a lot of coordination for some time anyway, he was
really worth it. :
Crescent, our emag, was released a short while ago, and Im happy to say that
we got a lot of good reactions concerning it. I hope we can persuade some
people to contribute to the next issue. All contributions are welcome as long
as they are in ansi format and are no more than 62 columns wide. Crescent is
also accepting regular writers which will then receive the title of Crescent
reporter. : As it was the first issue we did not get many votes for it, thus
we encourage people strongly to vote for issue 2. Also, not many people seemed
to have found the answer to our crossword, or are you out there just too lazy
to write a little email? : Anyway, look forward to Crescent 2 with greatly
optimized code.
Buster, courier and ghq sysop goes ISDN! Dial +49-581-31157 for one of the
fastest artboards in germany.
Misfits Acetone, distro site of us, is down. Fortunately, Misfit found us a
substitude quickly, namely POO, opped by him and Trip.
Black Maiden would warmly embrace new talented artists in its ranks, especially ansi, ascii and rip artists. Feel free to apply!
As Europe Online has gone bankrupt, some of our members have lost their email
account, notably Merciless Devil, our courier. He will get another account soon, but in the meantime use one of the following addressess to contact Black
Maiden:
triny.wiscour@ci.educ.lu
pschweig@club.innet.lu
For the same reasons as above, our homepage is temporarily down. Also, our
directory on wuarchive wont hold our newest releases anymore because no more
uplaods are possible at the time. Grab our packs at:
ftp.cdrom.com/pub/artpacks/incoming
or on IRC via a member of BM or by using the philez bot.
Kyp is not sure whether his email works correctly, so if anyone sent him a
message and didnt get a reply yet, please use the above address and state its for Kyp.
And again: dont forget to vote for next Crescent issue! :
Signing off, voice.
