Black Jacks ...
creep: 150 asciis, 3 years, a look back...
I remember early in my ascii career an incredible local artist,
The Green Hornet of Dark, released a retrospect collection. In this
collection, he had included a fairly large collection of his ansi
works. I found it incredibly inspiring to look at, and still
remember it to this day. As a young artist, I made it my goal to
keep, and number all my asciis as I did them. I had originally
planned to release this collection after my 100th ascii was complete.
Unfortunately, 100 took a *long* time for me to complete, and I
ended up passing it before it was actually completed.
So here we are... almost 3 years ago I was a newbie doodleboy drawing
ascii fonts for Plain, and now, I run my own group, Mimic Productions.
I could go on and list all the people who have inspired me... but,
that list would take far to long to compile, and besides.. who wants
to stare at a boring list of names anyways?
I will, however, list the people who I feel have influenced, encouraged
and contributed to my artistic past the most. Without these people,
I wouldnt have gotten into the art scene...
and who knows what I couldve become.
Respect and thanks goes out to : Suicidal Lemming Craig, Nine Lives,
Fear and watOr Kareem.
Oh, and a special thanks to Mark Ryder for doing that beautiful ascii
you saw above.. he r0x so hard. Next time you see him on irc, give
him a highfive for me.
..and in closing, I would like to thank my real life friends in
the little way I can with this release.
Sean: Buddy, I love you. Even though weve been going through shit
lately.. and had some troubles.. you know Ill always be your
bro. Who wouldve thought that something so stupid couldve
gotten in the way of years of friendship?
Robin: Youve been there for me so many times.. I dont know how to
thank you properly... Ill always remember the times you took
me down from stupid ego trips... how you always gave me that
little insult.. that little piece of advice.. that little
smack to the head that made me think twice... made me think
a little bit harder. Youre a good friend man.
Neil: You saw my talent early on.. and gave me a chance. Thanks
for taking me under your wing, I guess I owe you for that..
Well have to do lunch sometime... hopefully when youre not
getting stabbed in the back by a selfish bitch. :
Dave: Ah, Daveo, my man. Weve been associates from early on.. and
weve pretty much sticked it through. We both respect each
other, and have a neat kind of understanding about things...
You may get a little frisky sometimes, but you know I still
love you :
Jamie: My kid brother : The guy we always poked fun at because he
was only two steps behind us in the scene. Well bud, youve
grown up, and now youre on top with the rest of us. Even
though youve been through such rough shit, youve stuck it
out and prevailed.. you get my complete respect for that.
Keep on truckin, buddy.
Michelle: I know youre not local.. but when I talk to you, I get the
feeling weve known each other forever. Youre so under-
standing, kind, simple, intelligent, beautiful, .. arg,
youre perfect.. even if you dont think so :/ I love you,
youre such a good friend.. you mean so much to me.. Thank
you for all youve done, even if it has only been lately.

There are so many more people I would like to thank individually, so
so so fucking many.. unfortunately, I cant. All my boys, the ones
whove been there for me.. the ones who support me now, I love you..
Youve all influenced my life in so many ways.. and I thank ? you
for that. Without you guys, Id probably still be in the h/p scene
running scripts and getting cc infoz or some shit :
