IMBIBE? This is the weirdest artpack Ive ever seen, this just looks like a
bunch of bitmaps about food and a scary executable. WTF is going on?
In a nutshell: Imbibe is a food-and-drink-themed e-mag spun off from the
Mistigris house e-mag Kithe, primarily consisting of IRC chat logs and BBS
echomail captures circa 1998 that, due to factors, we werent able to manage
suitably dealing with for some 27 years. Its an MS-DOS executable -- you
can give it a spin under DOSbox but it should also work on period hardware.
Yes, the e-mag is mostly text, but also theres a bunch of food-related ANSI
art in there. What, why isnt all the art in the e-mag? Our 20th-century
source code wasnt engineered at that time to accommodate hirez, but theres
some good and relevant work in them thar bitmaps, so we just packed them
along as thematically relevant materials. What, why isnt the ANSI art also
viewable externally to the e-mag? Why, because we are contrarians, at odds
with ourselves and our own best interests. Any more questions?
Go on, run IMBIBE.EXE, and head to the art gallery submenu. Codefenix has some
of his best work locked in that freezer!
This release represents the end of our unfinished work from the Mist Classic
period! I propose a party. Fortunately, I can see that we have already set
the table with plenty of refreshments. Thanks for your patience, and see
you again next time!
