Pen15 (pen15)

The name is the joke and the joke is the name. Pen15 was founded 1998 around BioHazard and m4x with all the adolescent dick-collage energy that implies with pack titles, prefixes, NFO captions, all rendered with capital-P seriousness despite the obvious. The "wOE!iMPURE" and "nOMINAL^pEN15" cross-credits put it adjacent to the broader 1998 ASCII underground that included Impure, woe, and the Polish-Russian micro-pack circuit. The group did the unexpected thing of just continuing. By 2005 the senior members were rm and tribe, with haliphax (also Remorse senior) and unseen on the roster. The format outlived the joke by half a decade. Take what you want from that. Pen15 was a working group with consistent output across eight years, and the name was a kind of immune system against being taken seriously by the kind of people they didn't want taking them seriously.
