intro ..
The past two packs have been amazing, not only has Revival gained enormous
support, but the Ansi scene in general has had major life breathed back into
it. Before I get started I want to personally thank everyone who has contr-
buted in the recent months, both in Revival and other groups. Everyones
help is needed to increase productivity and bring artists back to the scene.
Now, lets delve into this months news...
The pack this month is another astounding one, the quality and size is
almost unbelievable as Im sure youll agree. The groups size and drive
has grown dramatically in the last month and I foresee many more packs to
come. This months pack boasts over 700KB worth of art, even larger than
last month.

Revival has grown to be the leading group in todays scene. This month we
have recruited many long lost artists who helped make the scene what it
once was. I would like to personally welcome each of the 15 new members
to join Revival since our last release:
vade79 :: status - Revived:
- Many of you will remember vade79 from his releases in Fire, a renowned
ansi group that housed extremely talented ansi artists. Vade79 is no
exception, and he brings great skill to Revival.
computer man :: status - Revived:
- Computer Man is a talented Ascii artist who can definitely hold his own.
You might remember him from such groups as Remorse and Odleay.
agent orange :: status - Revived:
- Agent Orange joins Revival from Glue, may it R.I.P.
gloss :: status - Revived:
- Gloss has been a great help since he joined Revival, both artistically and with the group. Youll see great things to come from this artist.
bym :: status - Revived:
- Big Yellow Man, also known as bym, joined Revival after viewing our 2nd
release, he augments our already talented memberlist with his experience
and skill.
sobriquet :: status - Revived:
- Sobriquet is a gangstah who will bust a cap in you if you so much as
look at him cross eyed.
shrimp :: status - Revived:
- Most will remember Shrimp as an ascii artist, but his Ansi can compete
with the best of them, as you will see.
quasar :: status - Revived:
- qs hails from Sweden, some self-proclaimed traits are being good in
bed. He has drawn for such groups as Stile and Shade, so step off!
sharque :: status - Revived:
- Sharque hails from the brine deep, watch out he will eat you alive!
sinister x :: status - Revived:
- Sinister X has graced many viewers in past years, some groups you may
remember him from are fire, acid, avenge, and cia! We welcome Sinister
X to Revival with open arms, COME HERE BIG GUY!!
illusion x :: status - Revived:
- Illusion X is another great artist who has made many inspirational
pieces some of my personal favorites are the ones which incorporated transparency, that always looked cool, and illx did it well.
mr4tune :: status - Revived:
- Mr. 4tune or 4o needs no introduction, he has released some of the most
amazing Ansis to ever grace a viewer. 4o will definitely shake things up
in the scene.
fever :: status - Revived:
- Fever has amazed many, and has definitely proven his skill in his day.
With his return we are sure to see some amazing canvases, his Revival
debut is proof of that. Great to have you onboard!
creator :: status - Revived:
- Creator is another oldschool artist who has returned to the scene with
a vengeance! Expect some great submissions from creator in the future,
his representation in Revival will not go unnoticed.
visionary :: status - Revived:
- Visionary is a talented Ascii artist who has displayed his talent in
fluid and oops!ascii. Visionary is a late joiner this month, but still
managed to get a few submissions in, great work!
anal pack 1 by davek ..
Davek is releasing a pack within Revival 3, the filename is anal-01.zip,
check it out and send comments to davek!
ansi showdowns ..
Ansi showdowns is an exciting new competition created by lazthaus ld!,
and myself, with additional help from discyple. There is a very detailed
explanation of what exactly these showdowns are, and how you can partic-
ipate, in SHOWDOWN.ANS. To give a very brief overview, the Ansi showdowns
are basically a competition between rival groups, Revival vs Jasper for
example. Two artists, one from each group, come together and challenge
eachother to a showdown. The showdown is voted upon by everyone in the
scene on blackthursday.net, and scores are kept. It was created to liven
up the scene and challenge artists to better their current skill.

btdraw ..
BTdraw is an online BBS ansi editor being written for Mystic BBS.
The idea is to provide a system for very casual ansi joints, where one can
add as little or as much as theyd like to a given canvas.
Also the stage will be set for more organized joints, with canvases being
both privately and publically accessible. Hopefully this will also open
up some of the non-artscene BBS population to ansi/ascii art...

I would first like to say how happy and proud I am with the progress of Revival its only the 3rd pack and it seems like we came so far so fast.
The group is working together as a team, and as a team we are putting
out major quality work. The channel revival is picking up very well,
and so are the bbss that support Revival. I would like to take the time
to thank sinisterX for the pic he did fo me, MagnatOp for the logos, and ld! for the peices he did for me. its coming man, its coming in
conclusion im very happy to be a member of the group and to have made it
this far to the 2k2 era. peace out!

bbs update ..
As stated in the last newsletter, Revival is dedicated to all facets of
the scene this includes the BBS scene. Ansi has many deep roots in the
BBS scene and without it there may have never BEEN an Ansi scene. For these
reasons Revival endorses all members who run boards, and has put many hours
into making our WHQ the best it can possibly be.
