I n t r o d u c t i o n !
Welcome in Imperial Viewer. This program can display any ANSi,
ANSiMation or ASCii file in 80x25, 80x50 both 16 colors and 320x200
256 colors modes. Also RIP graphics support! Descriptions of every
files is done with the SAUCE standard. This version is a major update,
offering you many new features and options... Hope you like this
viewer!

Easy to use and read menu in VGA-text-mode
Description of every file in the pack with sufficient
informations: filename, title and author
Adjustable speed rate to display ANSIs
3 selectable screen formats for ANSIs:
- ANSI mode 80x25 and 80x50 16 colors
- ASCii mode 80x25 and 80x50 2 colors
- MCGA mode 320x200 256 colors
Good choice of palettes of colors for ansis displays
RIP graphics support
Up to 26 masks of filenames allowed to be in the menu
Always present roll back ANSi/ASCii feature
SAUCE system support version 00
Built-in SAUCE editor
Simple but cool screen saver! enabled after 3 minutes
S u p p o r t e d M o d e s
ANSI, ANSiMation and ASCii files can be displayed, in the 80x25,
80x50 and 320x200 MCGA 256 colors modes. Also, to be able to read
secret messages that some ansis contain, a ASCii mode 80x25 or 80x50
is available. For the true graphic modes, only RIP is supported.
K e y s !
When you are in the menu, you can press:
F1: This help window... ESC to return.
F3: Decreases the speed of the ANSIs being diplayed.
When the slowest speed is reached, the meter returns
to the fastest speed.
+: Increase the speed of ANSi display, stop at 0.
-: Decrease the speed of ANSi display, stop at 28.
F4: Switch between the following screen formats:
Use Default Use default mode 80x25 or 80x50
Text 80x25 Forced display of 80x25 16c
Text 80x50 Forced display of 80x50 16c
Ascii 80x25 Forced display of ASC 80x25 2c
Ascii 80x50 Forced display of ASC 80x50 2c
MCGA 320x200 Display of MCGA 320x200 256c
In effect only with ANSi/ANSiMation and ASCii!
MCGA and ASCii cant be used for ANSiMation
F8: Change the configurations.
F9: Report memory status debugkey.
F10: Edit SAUCE informations of the current file.
Up/Down: Move the menu bar UP or DOWN one line.
PgUp/PgDn: Move the menu bar UP or DOWN one page.
Home/End: Move the menu bar to the top/bottom of its limits.
Enter/Space: Show an ANSi/ASCii file.
ESCape/ALT-Q/X: Quit to DOS.
When an ANSI or ASCii is displayed:
Up/Down / PgUp/PgDn / Home/End / Right/Left: Scroll the ANSI...
Any other key: Return to the viewer menu.
When an ANSiMation or RIP is displayed:
Any key: Return to viewers menu.

The first public release of this viewer was in the Imperials pack
of April 1994 IMP0494.ZIP. If your group wants to use this viewer, we
will be glad to help! The only conditions to use this viewer in your
packs are the two following:
Every files of the viewer must be present.
The files needed are: IV.EXE and IV.NFO.
Those files *MUST* BE 100 INTACT.

1.36 - Removed the routine which load an ansi/vga only once
since must the the users didnt have enough memory left
for the RIPs Copy/Paste functions...
1.35 ! An ansi is now loaded only once until another one
is selected...
! Now check if theres enough memory to load the
entire directory and show a box if not.
- CFG file not used/saved/loaded anymore... will
reappear in a future version!

! Recoded the font routine, hope its more compatible...
