1. Check it out! ANSI in two consecutive packs! Thats a feat not done in two
years.
2. Our featured artist this month is Stereophoenix, aka SPX. Hes got a
great interview for you to read, and two images in the pack. Come find out
about this interesting Aussie :
3. DJ Monkeyboy did a great intoduction to using Maya for our tutorial this
month. So put those pens down and get your pucks out and get prepped for
doing some 3D work on a 7500 base price professional package. You can
download a free Personal Learning Edition from
http://www.aliaswavefront.com/
4. Quick note to excessively thank Mynx and Quantum-X specifically, as well
as everyone else in iCE for helping out with so much around the home base.
The interview and tutorial html were done by Mynx this month, and Quantum-X
has done previous months. You guys all kick ass, and its great to see
people kicking in to help the group!
5. We have a couple new members this month! First up is Yonadaan, a great new
hi-res artist who survived our terrible application process. Hes really
excited to finally be a part of iCE, even though we made him shave his
hands and hazed him a bit excessively. Although the police are
investigating, we feel confident that theyll never find the photos or the
name of the youth organization that was involved.
Next up we have Allan! No handle, just Allan. Allan ran on the election
platform of Vote for me and Ill make babies cry!, which was a real hit
among the younger crowd. He cleaned up at the election booths and made it
into iCE. And were very glad to have him with us! Congrats to both of
our new members this month!
6. We have to wave farewells to a few people this month. First, we are sadly
losing defected, who is leaving to be with Raster using the name Psilic.
We certainly wish him well with Raster! Andrew is a great guy and well
miss him. Good luck Andrew!
Also departing is Precurser, whose website endeffect.com and life are
taking too much of his time. Hes departing on the best of terms, and we
will certainly miss him.
Finally, Cadaverous Fate is leaving to join Noir. Its sad to see people
go, but we only hope theyre happy in their new homes. Good luck everyone!
7. Although we dont normally discuss group policy in our newsletters, I
figured Ild explain here. iCE has always had a rule against dual-grouping
in cases where the groups overlap. In other words, if someone wants to join
iCE to release artwork and join another group to release poetry, thats
fine. But we ask that our members are dedicate themselves to the group and
dont take membership lightly by shopping around. Every group can always
use help from their members - get in the one you want and work to improve
it as much as you can.
8. We have a special guest release this month from Greg and Jito. We dont
normally release non-iCE art in the pack, but this one was special. Greg
and Jito are such fantastic artists and it turned out so well that we
thought we should give it some extra publicity. So check out Greg and
Jitos quilt from tiles in the pack this month!
9. We also have our Tribute to H.R. Giger in the pack this month. I think it
turned out great, so go take a peek! You can grab the completed quilt
image at http://tiles.ice.org/59.jpg. Just dont stop and wonder what all
those tubes actually do - its disturbing.
10. Huge thanks to Farmy and his brother for this past month. Weve been having
all sorts of server problems, mostly due to heat issues. But Farmy and his
brother have constantly dropped everything to work late into the night
trying to diagnose and fix our server issues. Farmy and Mike, we appreciate
it! We really do!
11. Finally, I have to personally thank Root88. He has spent hours working
every day to generate thumbnails and screenshots from loaders and RIP files
from old packs. We all owe Root88 a huge thanks to preserving our rich
history of art, music, and loaders back from the dark ages grin. All of
fantastic art work that the lazy missed by merely web viewing iCE art
instead of downloading the actual packs can now be easily viewed online. We
have even created http://archiology.ice.org for a quick link to see all
great work that may have been missed. Tune in again to archiology.ice.org
next month when we re-release dozens of iCE ansis never before seen in a
pack. All the great artwork that was posted to BBSs before the idea of ice
packs came about 8/92 has been restored from decade old tape backup for
you viewing pleasure.
Positive that all your resolutions have failed,
Slothy and Root88
