How do you think the US
government's actions concerning piracy will change over
the next year? |
I don't think
they'll be very active in enforcing the new law. I think
its more of a scare tactic then anything. I'm sure to
some extent though, it will work. As for their method of
arresting people, that's hard to say, but I suppose
they'll try to take advantage of the IRC and FTP sites. |
|
Who will be the first to be
convicted under the new laws and how will this group of
people react? |
I think
suppliers are probably at the highest risk, and I know
some of them are already wondering how active the US
government is going to be, and how strong they'll come
down on them. I don't think others people will have much
of a problem, although site owners might. |
|
What effect will these
convictions have on the rest of the scene? |
At first,
people will be weary, but once they see that the law
isn't being enforced as strictly as its written, it won't
have that much of an effect on the scene. |
|
How is the warez scene
going to be different a year from now because of the NET
act? |
I don't think
it'll be much different. I think the warez scene will be
different, but not due to the NET act. |
|
Will there be any positive
effects on the scene? |
Positive
effects? Not that I can think of. |
|
How will the NET act effect
you personally? |
Personally it
really doesn't effect me that much. I'm not in any way
more worried about what I do now that the act has passed.
To me, its just a scare tactic and I don't think I'm the
type of person they'd be after. |
|
What advice would you give
to people in the warez scene about the NET act? |
Don't worry
about it so much. Like I said, I think its a scare tactic
and until I see it enforced and be successful, I'm not
going to think twice about it. Plain and simple. |
