First let me start off by saying that this isnt a new group that Im startingbut a new magazine that Im starting. : Now ...
Recently I bought a scanner because I wanted to start doing VGA and suck at
drawing with a mouse. The scan came out pretty damn good and it got me thinkingabout the magazine Jabberwocky put out awhile back called SUN which featured
scanned handdrawn artwork from scene members. I thought it would be really fun
to try and revive this idea myself since Im very interested in seeing handdrawnartwork from other scene members and Ive heard nothing about this type of
project from anyone in a long time.
3C
So as of today FART! is born. My art magazine dedicated to showcasing real,
true, original artwork from the scene members we all know and love. The idea isvery new since I just got my scanner today, but Im really excited about workingon this project and plan on putting out a high quality product.
If you are interested in contributing to the magazine, you can contact me at
tgice@crl.com. Ill be changing accounts and moving to flash.net soon, so I
will get back to everyone with an updated email address soon. The way were
going to do this is if youre interested in submitting work for the magazine,
you can contact me and I can give you more information on getting the art to me. You can either send samples of your work already scanned in .GIF or .JPG
format or whatever you choose to me directly at the above email address or youcan make a copy of your work and send it to me via snail mail. Alot of local
businesses will run off copies for you for a small fee or maybe your parents or
friends have access to a copier at their work and will run them off for you.
Once recieved, I can scan the work for you on my scanner which can handle
16.7mil colors as well as 256 grayscale shades and up to 800dpi. If you would
like your work returned to you, mention that when you contact me and I will
arrange for it to be mailed back to you. Make sure your work has either your
name or your handle on it.
Here are some points I want to address :
1. We WILL be looking for a select number of distribution sites, both BBSs andinternet sites. Please dont email me for a site. Ill select sites myself
only after the mag is off and running. I MAY take requests, or I may not.
2. Please send only original artwork. I dont want work that is copied from a comic book or traced out of a magazine or whatever.
3. Im currently looking for a coder to code the magazine shell. If interestedcontact me at tgice@crl.com.
4. This idea is still in the early stages of development. Ill get back to youwith updated information soon and hopefully have things more set in stone.
5. Ill try contactingcertain people personally trying to get help/submissions.If you are the slightest bit interested in contributing, PLEASE contact me and
let me know, or contact me just to let me know what you think of the idea. I
want this magazine to reflect the true artistic talent that I know runs through
the scene. If you draw freehand and think youre fairly good, Id like a
submission.
6. FART stands for
1mF
0mreehand
1mART
0m and is in no way a derogatory comment. :
7. Please spread this file to any boards you frequent.
8. Thanks alot.. :
