Area Code Report --- 407 by The Cool Guy (plain) Well, I know that everybody says their area code sucks, no matter where they live, but until you've lived in 407, you just don't understand. We have so few artists here that its rather pathetic. But Sodium wanted me to review it anyway, so here goes. :) 407 is in central florida (pretty much). Most people think Florida is all exciting, but they're wrong. We have nothing better to do than sit at our computers and type things like this. In any case, there are only a few artists in 407, but all of us are in good, or at least respectable groups. The art scene is not that popular here, but the warez scene is really popular (at least 20 warez boards local to me, and i dont live in a big city or anything). But there a few of us who have graduated from the lameness of the warez puppies.. --- The 407 artists --- Clorox Cowboy was probably the first artist in the area.. he has been in groups such as Cranium, Anemia, and most recently Gravity (and probably some others, he's too old for me to remember :) ) Too bad he's long distance from all the rest of us, even though he is in 407. Cheeze is one of the most popular artists in the scene today, he runs the well-known Doink, and is in such groups as CIA and Plain. He's clearly the "sillykraziest" person in the area.. and one of my mentors :) Pyro is pretty new to the scene, he has a wide range of talents: he draws ansi, ascii, does bbs modding, and writes music. He was in Humid, but due to the Decades merger, finds himself groupless at the present time. Pyro was the guy who got me into art, if i ever get good, i owe it all to him :) Egghead is another artist in the area, I think he is in the group TDD. Haven't seen any art from him lately, so Im not sure if he still draws. And finally, theres me. (woo!) Im the "newbie" artist of the area, three months ago I got out of the warez scene and started drawing ansi, I was in Pursuit until this month when I left for Plain. And thats about it.. I hear there's some people in south 407 that draw (or pretend to), but I dont know any of them for sure. Most area codes seem to have at least 1 or 2 small local groups of artists trying to break into the scene, but here in 407 we don't really have anything like that. There was a little group called Cascade a while back, but they only had 2 artists and quickly died. But I think its better this way, even though there isn't many artists here, the few that are here are really good, so I learned from the best instead of joining a little group and never improving much. Well, I guess thats about it.. not a whole lot else you can say about this place. Hope you enjoyed reading this, and come move down here so we'll have somebody else to talk to :) tcg(_plain)
